I've just dug an old lawn up for a veg plot, I will put potatoes in one area. Do I put manure on and lime or just one of the two?

lime or manure

Autumn is the best time to lime your soil as this allows it to work its way in the soil over the winter. If you already have crops in the ground it is best not to lime the soil as this can damage the crops. Never lime and fertilize at the same time. Do a PH test of the soil as potatoes prefer a more acid soil. It is suggested to lime in the Autumn after potatoes are cropped.Manure can be added in the spring when planting new crops.
