/ Mix the same amount of potting soil, peat moss and sand into a large plastic tub with a lid. Use this soil mixture to fill peat pots or seed trays to start seeding.
/ Mix one part potting soil one part sand and two parts moss peat to create a meduim for growing cacti and carnivorous plants.
/ Put together one part peat moss with two parts soil in the garden, roughly one inch of peat moss to every 3 inches you dig down. This will help aerate the soil and improve clumping in clay soil.
/ In the summer you can always add 1 inch of peat moss around tree's and garden vegetables. This will act like a mulch and can hold up to 10 -- 15 times more moisture. During the winter you can always add 3 - 4 inches this helps keep warmth in and holds water.
/ Peat moss is good to top dress lawns with. Your lawn needs to be established. Evenly spread out 1/2 inch of peat moss twice a year is good. This helps to aerate and add organic fertilizer to the lawn. Peat moss is free of weed seed making it perfect to use in any garden application. It is sterile, as it carries no disease or insect larvae or eggs.
